About Us
Our Background

Transform Compost Systems provides a complete set of products and services for any organization looking to design, construct or operate waste management and composting facilities. Transform focuses on designing composting and waste management solutions that are economically sustainable and address current and future environmental concerns regarding waste management.
Transform uses its extensive experience to further the composting industry by improving the standards for composting and by designing and constructing the latest in composting technology.
Transform Compost Systems was founded by Dr. John Paul. Dr. Paul has a PhD in soil microbiology and biochemistry and worked as a Waste Management scientist for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada from 1991 to 1998.
Dr. Paul has been involved with waste management research and development since 1985, has spoken internationally on waste management issues, and has published extensively in international journals. Dr Paul coauthered the Compost Facility Operator Manual continues to teach an advanced Compost Course
We are honored that one of our compost facility designs (Lafleche Environmental) has won the Solid Waste Association of North America’s Gold Award at an August 2015 conference in Florida (WASTECON)! We honor and appreciate all of the engineers and contractors that we worked with to allow this to happen!
Dr. Paul is a professional agrologist registered with the British Columbia Institute of Agrologists, as well as the Alberta Institute of Agrologists.

Mission
Transform Compost Systems is advancing the composting industry by providing ideas, support, training, design and equipment that improves the economics of the composting process, improves the quality of the compost product and reduces the environmental impact.
The publication of the Compost Facility Operator Manual, our ongoing committment to education and training, and the enhancements of the aerated and turned windrow composting process are examples of our innovation, creativity and ability to assist the highly valuable composting industry.
We acknowledge the importance of our industry in recycling valuable plant nutrients for crop production, recycling organic matter to maintain the health of our soils, and providing compost products that reduce the need for pesticides by improving the disease resistance of our crops. We also acknowledge the importance of diverting organic waste from landfill and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions in a manner that is safe and socially acceptable.

Vision
Transform’s vision is to promote the recycling of organic waste as an important part maintaining healthy communities. The organic waste recycling process must occur in a manner that does not cause water or air pollution, nor create odor concerns for our communities, and must produce soil enhancing products that improve the health of our soil, and reduce our dependance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Our definition of sustainability:
We will protect our air, water and soil so that we and our children can enjoy optimal biological diversity and economic opportunities now and in the future.
“We are committed to using our 30 years of experience to encouraging composting processes that are environmentally sustainable and socially acceptable.”
“We encourage recycling organic matter effectively to produce safe and high quality composts!”
